Legacy as defined in the Cambridge English Dictionary means something that is a part of your history or that remains from an earlier time. City Road United Methodist Church has a long and impressive legacy that is documented in historical documents, pictures, and has been passed down by word of mouth from generation to generation. We have a story of faith to share within our membership, but more importantly with our community, and even with our world. Our legacy has found its way across the globe in Japan, Korea, and Africa. It has also nurtured Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, as well as a group of students of Hispanic background to be better disciples of Christ. We have been the church with the big white steeple on the corner of Burgess and Road streets for over 120 years and it is a legacy that we should all claim and help preserve. Our legacy is multi-faceted. It serves to help us remember and honor our past, to inspire us to work harder to match the dedication and generosity of those who have come before us, and to ensure that we leave a legacy for those who will come after us to be proud of and to build upon.
